I didn't know this until literally last week, but you have to enable customization of your channel page. If you don't, it'll just show "This channel has no content".
To do this, go to "My Channel": http://i.imgur.com/DVjD0PG.png
From there, click the gear next to your subscribe button: http://i.imgur.com/0vSqaVi.png
Make sure "Customize the layout of your channel" is enabled: http://i.imgur.com/zP4nNTO.png
Now, when you go to "My Channel" there should be a pencil icon where you can edit which videos or playlists are shown on your channel. Additionally, you can choose to view your channel as "Yourself", "New visitor", or "Returning subscriber".
