I know under the "promote yourself" forum, there is a thread which tells us that we must reach a certain level before we can post anything there..... So what is that level? It is unclear and not very specific.....

Well in order to post in the promote yourself section you need to be a full member of the forums which means either : -
a) You have a total of 30 forum messages (these are interactions you have across the forum threads / replies to threads you want to participate on)
OR
b) You have partnered with the Freedom Network (or our sub network the MGN) and then request the partner badge, which is usually updated to your account within 24-48 hours.

Zeke explained it perfectly for you. We allow members a certain degree of selfpromotion but we have chosen to limit it to prevent a huge spam of channel advertisements.
